Meet Mónica.
Marketing & Digital Media
Mónica is part of the Lean In Latinas team, focusing on Marketing & Digital Media, and brings her background as a web developer and photographer to the team’s online presence and visual storytelling.
She’s also the director of a nonprofit based in Costa Rica and a mom to toddler twins, a boy and a girl. Between running an NGO, building websites, and photographing the moments in between, she brings a hands on, do it all spirit to everything she takes on.
What drives you to be a part of Lean In Latinas?
I love working with NGOs, but especially with successful women who believe the world can change if we all try a little harder. I want my daughter to grow up knowing she can become whatever she wants, as long as she believes in herself, and I want my son to know that same truth. They are different, unique, but they both deserve to open the same doors, hand in hand.
What advice would you give to other Latinas?
Keep dancing thru life and never give up.
What do you do for fun?
I love to travel, especially anywhere with a beach or a little nature nearby. At home you’ll find me doing coloring books and puzzles with my kids, building with Legos, making bows and headbands, or pouring candles. I’m always making something with my hands.
