Meet Blanca.
Social Media Content Creator
I’m the owner and creative lead behind Whitewave Creative Media, but my approach to marketing has always been rooted in people first.
My background and education in social work have shaped the way I see communication, storytelling, and community. My experiences working with Welcome Foreign Brother, Sugar Hill Beyond, Lean In Latinas, and other community-focused programs have also taught me to listen first, understand the people I am serving, and make sure their stories are represented with care.
That is also where a lot of my creativity comes from. I genuinely love people, and I love learning what they are passionate about. I believe the best marketing starts by understanding what someone cares about, what motivates them, and what they want others to understand about their work.
Through Whitewave Creative Media, I get to help businesses, organizations, and individuals take that passion and turn it into content that feels real, intentional, and connected to the people they want to reach.
For me, marketing is not just about creating something that looks good. It is about listening closely, finding the story behind the work, and helping people communicate why what they do matters.
What drives you to be a part of Lean In Latinas?
What drives me is the community. I know how powerful it can be when women have a space where they can learn from one another, share opportunities, and feel supported instead of feeling like they have to figure everything out alone.
Through my work in social media and community outreach, I’ve seen how much representation and connection matter. I love being able to use what I know about storytelling and communication to help amplify the voices, accomplishments, businesses, and experiences of the women in this community. I also love that I’m constantly learning from them at the same time.
What advice would you give to other Latinas?
Don’t wait until you feel completely ready.
Some of the biggest opportunities in my life have required me to learn while I was doing them. Ask questions, reach out to people, apply for the opportunity, start the business, and allow yourself to grow into the next version of yourself.
And don’t underestimate the experiences you already have. Your story, the communities you have worked with, the challenges you have overcome, and the things you have learned along the way are part of what you bring to the table.
What do you do for fun?
I love photography and creating, even when I’m not working. I also enjoy traveling, camping, exploring new food places around California, and spending time with my family. Give me a beautiful place, my camera, and something new to experience, and I’m usually happy.
